Talking Dogs Scentwork Level 2
29 March 2015 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£85
Talking Dogs Scentwork was developed by Pam Mackinnon following her time as a drug detector dog handler with HM Customs & Excise. This form of scentwork is about teaching the dog to find a specific scent, not a specific item. The scent is the key.
We are thrilled to be hosting Helen Greenley BSc, PGDip CABC for these workshops and have very much enjoyed attending Scent 1 taught by Helen with our own dogs. Level 2 builds on level 1 and is only open to handlers who have completed a Scent 1 course.
This workshop concentrates on handling skills, introducing directed searches and search patterns. These allow teams to increase the challenge of the searches, including changes of height, duration of the search and multiple or zero finds. Building on the foundation searches, this day will push the boundaries and challenge your team.
Only one handler space remains, but spectator places are available. To be able to progress to Level 3 you do have to attend Level 2 as a handler however. To book a place please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, 07905 416622 to receive a booking form.
